Owen's broken arm

Well, we had a very eventful holiday. We had a good time with family, but a couple of days after Christmas, the weather was really nice outside and so we let Owen jump on the trampoline at my parent's house and he lost his balance and he fell off and tried to catch himself and then ended up breaking his arm. Zac was the one that was outside with him and he ran in to tell me that we had to take him to the ER. My family of course was helpful and supportive. They watched William as we ran to the hospital. I was a wreck. I don't do well with needles and things like that and so I paced in the hallway while Zac sat with him. We got him sedated relatively quickly (although at the time, it didn't feel quick at all) and then they fixed and then casted his arm.

He cried all the way to the hospital, but he was such a trooper about the whole thing. And we let that boy play with the Ipad for nearly 3 days straight (he doesn't get it too often). He was on a pretty heavy dose of medicine for the first few days and he was happy and really patient about the whole thing. After that, he just acted like that arm was dead weight and he actually adjusted really well. We are so proud of him.

We took him in a couple of weeks ago to get an X-ray to see how it was healing. We had to take the cast off to look at the arm a little better. He was very patient and didn't fuss hardly at all. Then he got a new smaller cast and he was okay with that too. Finally, this last Friday we got the cast off for good. He is still getting used to actually using his right arm, but he is so great and everything healed really well. What an amazing boy we have!
